Fears about the future, work intensification, social change: people who live and work today are constantly adapting. Our mindset – our inner attitude – is one of the central keys to remaining capable of acting. But what does it actually mean to strengthen our mindset? And how can this be achieved without slipping into empty motivational phrases? One of the answers is provided by positive psychology – and a workshop that cleverly combines theory and practice.
Strengthening your mindset – more than just positive thinking
When people talk about resilience or “mental strength”, a thought often resonates: I just have to think positively and I’ll be fine. But this is precisely where there is a misunderstanding. Strengthening your mindset does not mean ignoring problems or putting yourself under pressure through constant self-optimization. Rather, it is about reflecting on your own perception and developing a healthy, solution-oriented approach to challenges. In her research, psychologist Carol Dweck distinguishes between a “fixed mindset” (static self-image) and a “growth mindset” (growth-oriented self-image). Those who have internalized a growth mind set do not see mistakes as proof of incompetence, but as a learning opportunity. This is essential – especially in professional contexts that are characterized by change, uncertainty and high complexity.
In our workshop “Strengthen your mindset in challenging times” this is exactly where we start. We invite self-reflection and impart in-depth knowledge about the mechanisms of a stable yet flexible mindset.
Positive psychology as a foundation: the PERMA model
A central model used in the workshop comes from positive psychology: the so-called PERMA model by Prof. Dr. Martin Seligman. PERMA stands for:
PositiveEmotions, Engagement, Relationships, Meaning, Accomplishment
According to Seligman, these five pillars form the basis for subjective well-being – and can be actively promoted both in private life and in the work context. Those who know how to draw motivation from small successes, for example, or how to build meaningful relationships in teams, not only strengthen their individual mindset, but also cooperation within the company.
Our workshop translates these principles into concrete exercises. Participants learn, for example, how to deal with inner drivers, classify fears about the future and develop goals that are both realistic and motivating.
Why strengthen your mindset right now?
In uncertain times, the need for control and stability grows – but external circumstances are often beyond our control. What we can influence, however, is our attitude. A strengthened mindset acts like an inner anchor: it helps us to stay focused, set priorities and derive opportunities from crises. Studies show: People with a resilient, growth-oriented mindset not only report higher job satisfaction, but also better mental health, greater problem-solving skills and a stronger sense of self-efficacy.
A consciously cultivated mindset is not a nice-to-have, but a key issue for the future, especially in management levels or interdisciplinary teams that have to make complex decisions.
For whom is this workshop worthwhile?
Our format is aimed at managers, project managers and teams who work in a challenging environment and are looking for new ideas for dealing with stress, change and self-management. But the workshop also offers valuable guidance for individuals who want to develop professionally or personally.
What makes it special: We combine sound knowledge with applicable methods – and create space for honest exchange. No pressure to perform, no promise to perform. Instead, we provide practical tools to help you act effectively and re-establish a good dialog with yourself.
