GUEST POSTING
Startups are changing the world – they generate innovation, create new markets and drive social change. However, only one in five startups in Germany is co-founded by a woman. This clearly shows that women are still underrepresented in the startup scene. Obstacles such as limited access to capital, lack of visibility and few role models often make it difficult for women to get started. That is exactly what we want to change at Foundersphere. Because we firmly believe that a diverse start-up scene is not only fair, but crucial for genuine innovation.
Why start-ups need women: new perspectives for success
Innovation thrives on different perspectives. When women are more strongly represented in the start-up scene, products are created that appeal to broader target groups and take entirely new needs into account. Diversity is therefore not only a social goal – it is also economically indispensable.
This is precisely where Foundersphere comes in with its Female Founders Hub. Our goal is clear: we want to raise the profile of female founders, inspire them and help them network – throughout Germany.
What does the Female Founders Hub offer?
Foundersphere’s Female Founders Hub offers female founders everything they need to succeed: digital profiles of relevant contact points, access to events and networks, and inspiring stories from other female founders. In addition, the hub enables female founders to showcase their own start-ups and present themselves in a targeted manner.
Under the motto ‘It takes a woman to raise a start-up,’ we show that female founders are not only present, but central to an innovative and sustainable start-up culture.
Creating inspiring role models
The Female Founders Hub focuses on role models. Through stories of successful female founders, interviews and articles, we highlight the power and creativity that can be found in a more diverse start-up landscape. Visible role models are crucial for encouraging future female founders and supporting them on their journey.
One highlight of our campaign is the ‘It takes a woman’ poster, which showcases up to 60 female-founded start-ups together with their supporters in a high-profile manner. This sends a clear message about equality and visibility.
Room for everyone – regional diversity in the start-up ecosystem
Not part of the female founder ecosystem? No problem! With our campaign ‘It takes a city/region to raise a startup,’ we bring local startup communities from all over Germany to the stage. We present startups as well as the most important players and supporters in a region. This campaign gives you the opportunity to make yourself and your startup visible and become part of a network of inspiring people and companies.
